Inspections
We offer 3 levels of inspections.
Level 1
Level 3
Level 2
Level 1 Inspections are performed during a routine cleaning of the fireplace or a direct replacement of an appliance.
Level 1 Inspections are limited to readily accessible areas, those we can see without using a camera, ladder, etc. We look for cleanliness, obstructions, cracks/gaps, and structure.
During a Level 1 Inspection,
there are hidden areas in the system that you cannot see without a camera. If you want a more thorough inspection, a level 2 Inspection is recommended.
Level 2 Inspections offer a more detailed inspection than a Level 1. Following a Level 1 Inspection, if we feel a more thorough inspection needs to be performed, we will recommend a Level 2 Inspection.
During a Level 2 Inspection, we utilize a camera through the system to see any gaps, cracks, or missing mortar in the fireplace and flue that cannot be seen during a Level 1 Inspection. Video/Pictures are taken and can be sent to you for viewing.
Level 3 Inspections are the most detailed inspections and include a Level 1 and Level 2 Inspection. Level 3 Inspections are for non accessible areas and require removal of material to inspect problem areas.
Level 3 Inspections may include damage to the fireplace, framing, firestops, drywall, etc. to get to the problem areas.
Level 3 Inspections will be discussed with the customer for approval before work begins.
